Work on an executive-search project can be conveniently classified into several stages.
Stage 1
We get to know our corporate client (personal meeting with the company’s owners and management), identify the company’s HR problems and the priorities in recruiting the staff required. We learn about the corporate culture.
The client together with the NM Consulting partner develops the requirements for candidate such as job responsibilities, place in the company’s hierarchy, opportunities for career advancement, education, compensation package, as well as set the project targets.
Based on the results of the interviews conducted, the NM Consulting advisers prepare under their partner’s guidance and coordinate with the client a detailed description of the vacancy (job description). The first stage culminates in a contract drafted and finalised.
Stage 2
This stage is concerned with development of operating strategy, and formation of task force. The task force, which comprises consultants and researchers, is put together by the project leader, the NM Consulting partner. The project leader interfaces with the client and informs the latter about the progress made.
Stage 3
We undertake a survey of the corporate client’s sector, i.e., we identify the sector’s major players, market trends, evaluate the competitive environment. The task force narrows down the field to search for a potential candidate using NM Consulting’s surveys and previously established contacts, as well as the expert opinion of the market insiders. Having reviewed the data obtained, the task force puts together a list of potential candidates (long list). Based on the client’s opinion on the possible professional potential of candidates, a pool of persons is formed, to be contacted by the consultants on a priority basis. Such tentative contacts are aimed at vetting the specialists, finding out whether they are interested in offers to change jobs, at producing a quick evaluation of professional experience and the need to develop the contact.
The third stage is completed by coordinating the candidates with the client.
Stage 4
This stage is used by the consultants to arrange and hold interviews with potential candidates, their findings enabling the consultants to put together a short list of the most promising candidates, with their resumes/CVs produced to feature basic data on their education and professional experience. The candidates’ resumes, together with the consultant’s comments evaluating the professional experience, personal potential, are made available to the client for review and a decision on whether a meeting should be arranged.
Stage 5
A meeting is arranged and held between the client and the short-list candidates. If necessary, the meeting is attended by the company’s partner, the project leader. Based on the findings of the meeting conducted and the feedback received from the clients and candidates, the task force compiles a list of finalists, or revises the search strategy and/or job description.
Stage 6
The client finalises the choice of candidate. NM Consulting experts advise their clients on how to put together and word a job offer, as well as discuss with the candidate the date when he or she can start work with the client.
Stage 7
The candidate starts work with the client. NM Consulting experts arrange support for and settlement of the candidate at the company.
The time frame for locating senior executives and large-scale project auditors is to be agreed on a case-by-case basis. Average lead time for locating a specialist is 1.5 to 2 months.
Our service charge for recruiting a specialist to fill a staff vacancy is 30% of the aggregate yearly income of the specialist in his or her position with the client.
Should the specialist recruited for the client give in his notice within 6 to 12 months of accepting the position, NM Consulting guarantees that it will provide another candidate free of charge.
